Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to analyze the contributions of Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi and its impacts on the field of Didactics. In this sense, we used qualitative, bibliographical research.The results of the investigation reveal few translations of this author's works into Portuguese, which indicates the low circulation of his educational thought in the Brazilian scenario. Bearing in mind this element and the difficulties of direct access to his productions, we do not assume the intention of bringing to light new elements about Pestalozzi's work, but we consider the value of reporting to an author still little explored nationally. Regarding his contributions to Didactics, the research highlights the relevance of his theory and practice, especially in the sense of bringing propositions that emphasize the interaction between teachers and students and the commitment to an intuitive method that values learning through impressions sensorial, favoring a comprehensive education that sees the intellectual, physical and moral dimensions as inseparable. The research also reveals the relevance of Pestalozzi's work as a whole for popular education.
