Abstract

This article proposes to trace, through a bibliographic survey, a concise overview of the history of the Braille System, from its origin to its fundamental role in the educational context. Furthermore, it seeks to highlight the importance of the discipline "Braille - Reading and Writing System" at the Regional University of Cariri, explaining from its implementation to its impact on the training of future educators and professionals committed to inclusion. The aim is to understand the relevance of inclusive education for teacher training through Braille, aiming to promote inclusive practices in schools. It advocates for the mandatory teaching of Braille to broaden understanding of inclusion and to prepare professionals to effectively interact with people with visual impairments.
