Abstract

This paper discusses some literary literacy practices with secondary school students through the indigenous cordel Coração na aldeia, pés no Mundo (2018), by Auritha Tabajara. Methodologically, this is a qualitative and bibliographical study. As a theoretical foundation, we adopted the following authors: Thiél (2012); Candido, (2006; 2017); Cosson (2014, 2018); Jouve (2002); Lajolo (2001) and also some ideas from Testa (2021); Leite (2019); Graúna (2013); Dorrico et al. (2018); Ferreira (2021). As a result, we pointed out that cordel in the classroom helps in the formation of more critical and sensitive readers. Tabajara's poetry also contributes to fostering interest in indigenous literature, which is still so little explored at school, thus advancing the literary literacy of secondary school students.
