Abstract

The article is an excerpt from a master's research carried out in the Pedagogy course at the State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB), in the municipality of Itapetinga-BA. The focus of the research was to problematize the discourses on gender and teaching from the statements of the students and professors of the respective course. The perspectives that structured the analyzes were based on post-critical studies of gender relations, sexuality and education. As reference literatures, studies by Louro (2011), Foucault (2000), Miskolci (2016), Borrillo (2010), Junqueira (2009), Castro (2014), Ferrari (2003), among others, were used. As devices for data production and discourse analysis, semi-structured interviews and focus groups with 6 (six) professors and 10 (ten) students of the Pedagogy course were used. From the analyzes carried out, it is possible to state that there are still many prejudices and hostilities that fall on men who enter a training course that is not socially attributed to them, mainly those dedicated to the care and education of early childhood, such as Pedagogy.
