Publications on climate change in regional development were characterized, based on bibliometrics with 287 articles from the Web of Science. The surveys were grouped into six clusters: management, innovation and sustainability; biodiversity and ecosystem services; food security; simulations and environmental impacts; resilience and adaptation, and; environmental strategies and economic growth. Contributions emerge on the state of the art, the frontier of knowledge and the definition of standards in the emerging literature.
