Abstract

Fake news came up with the post-truth and had the Trump’s election and Brexit as the main examples of its indiscriminate use. Brazil did not come out unscathed and here they had repercussions, mainly during the electoral period, in which all sorts of misinformation has been resurrected and became public again. Although the use of lies in politics is not recent, the fake news phenomenon is associated to the technological apparatus of the information society in which we live. As usual, the term fake news has become complex and the literature has preferred the term disinformation for being more comprehensive and able to understand all kinds of rumors. This study aims to inquire the discourse against the Brazilian Left, discover what is in common in the lies conveyed and what prejudices they bring to light through the cataloging of the misinformation that disapproved by agencies/checking sites and the analysis of its content and discourse. It starts from the hypothesis that fake news are not randomly proposed, but follow themes that are sensitive to the Brazilian population so that, when propagated, they inflate the imagination of the subjects involved in the communication process. Methodologically, the work adopts Discourse Analysis to understand this phenomenon and applies Semiolinguistic Analysis as a form of analysis.

Doutorando em Comunicação pela UFPR e em Ciência `Política pela UFSCar. Mestre em Ciência Política pela UFSCar e graduando em Relações Públicas (UNIFRAN). Possui especialização em Mídias e Educação (IFSULMG), Educomunicação (UNYLEYA), Comunicação Empresarial (UMESP) e Marketing Político (UNINTER). É graduado em Jornalismo (UNIRP), Letras (UMESP), Publicidade e Propaganda (IMESB-VC), Pedagogia (UNIFRAN) e Ciência Política (UNINTER). Membro do grupo de pesquisa Comunicação Eleitoral (CEL) vinculado À UFPR. Estuda desinformação, fake news, escolas legislativas e rebranding partidário. É professor e coordenador da Pyxis Assessoria Acadêmica e Educacional e atua em cursos preparatórios para concursos, formação de jovens aprendizes e cursos de formação continuada. É vice-diretor do Centro do Professora Paulista de Bebedouro.
