Abstract

The objective was to analyze the results of mammographies of women aged 70 and over performed in 2022 in a radiology clinic in a city in the south of Brazil. For this purpose, 699 mammography reports were evaluated from women aged over 69 years old. The information collected was age and the result of the mammography. As a result, the average age identified was 74,48. 10,6% of the mammographies resulted in BI-RADS 0 and 81,7% in BI-RADS 2. Amongst patients with malignancy suggestive scans, 1,4% were BI-RADS 4 and 0,1% were BI-RADS 5. Therefore, the age of screening for Breast Cancer as indicated by the Brazilian public health system proves itself correctly when applied to the present study.
